Serves: 6

Ingredients
  • Warm water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 14-ounce package of carmel candies (I used Brach's brand)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (substitute with water)
  • 6 Fujii apples (use granny smith or any other favorite)
  • Paper candy sticks
Instructions
  1. Wash the wax off the apples. In your sink or large tub, add warm water, lemon juice and baking soda. Brush the outside of the apple with a veggie brush. Remove from water and dry.
  2. Stick one stick in the top of each apple. Set aside.
  3. Set-up a tray lined with parchment paper or use a silicone mat to prevent the caramel apples from sticking.
  4. Remove wrappers from caramel and in a small pot, add caramels and milk over medium heat.
  5. Stir the caramel until melted.
  6. Dip each apple in the caramel and place on the lined tray.
  7. Decorate caramel apples with desired candies, or enjoy these plain.
  8. Caramel apples are best if enjoyed immediately. Leftover caramel apples can be stored in the refrigerator and brought to room temperature (to soften the caramel) and enjoyed as well.
