A Special Celebration

Over the weekend we celebrated my very dear friend’s wedding and she did such a fabulous job planning all of the beautiful details. It was a gorgeous celebration and it was truly such an honor to be included in their special day.

In lieu of my usual Monday recipe, I am sharing just a few photos from the weekend. I will confess that this bridesmaid is a bit tired from our late evening of dancing and celebrating. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time my husband and I were out that late having fun but we had such a great time and it was truly a fabulous day to remember forever.

Thank you, my friend, for including me in your special day and congratulations to you and your new husband!

Our pretty place cards.
We were seated at the Amandine Table. Each table was named after the bride and groom’s favorite
restaurants. This particular restaurant is one that I introduced to the bride. (I will need to share a post on the cafe soon.)

 Our very pretty table setting.
There was a bookmark at each place setting with a quote from the bride and groom’s favorite movies.
(My apologies for poor lighting and the quality of photos taken on my iPhone.)

Our salad course of baby greens, frisee, gorgonzola, cranberries and candied walnuts in a vinaigrette dressing.

The main course was a ‘surf and turf’ of filet mignon and  sea bass in a creamy citrus sauce.
I really loved the fish with citrus sauce and the filet was very tender and perfectly cooked.

Delicious, light and airy individual mousse cake wrapped in candied chocolate stripes. I want to say that it was a pineapple mousse, except for the flower garnishing the cake….

The cake was so pretty it deserved two photos on the blog. :)
The pretty cake was topped with a beautiful physalis fruit which looks like a little yellow tomato wrapped in a pretty lime green paper husk. The fruit is both sweet and slightly tart at the same time.
Perhaps it was physalis mousse?

Since I don’t drink (boring, I know), here’s my favorite non-alcoholic drink of choice: cranberry spritzer!

My husband and I had a fabulous time at the wedding.

It made me very happy to see my friend as a bride, and so very happy on her special day. Congratulations again, to the happy bride and groom! May you always enjoy your ‘happily ever after’!
